Am I eligible for the obesity procedures?

There are internationally agreed patient criteria for performing weight loss surgery that are based on BMI measurements.

  • BMI of 40 or greater
  • BMI 35 – 40 & associated obesity related serious illnesses
  • Patients who have tried supervised dieting programs & dietary education without success

If your BMI is 30-35, then Dr Adib will carefully assess your medical history, age & your family history of obesity & associated serious illnesses.  He will then consider your particular case before making a decision about your eligibility for surgery.

The best way to find out if you are eligible for surgery is to make an appointment & talk it over with us.

What should I do now?

If you feel you are eligible or would simply like to discuss this further we encourage you to contact our team to make an appointment.
